Zomba Plateau

On our way through to Liwonde National Park we decided to break our journey at Zomba. A small town on the Plateau with a reputation of being a Hikers Haven. We didn't Hike. Partly because we had already established that some of us "don't do up". Mostly because we went up the 3000 metre summit by another means... not so Lazy Landy! The driver, Lindsey. The mission: to reach the top this time! The road was no peice of cake, and those of us with height difficulties were sitting on the edge of our seats, but our master driver got us there like a champion in an offroad race! We did have to spend a moment once we got to the top while she caught her breath between her knees. We realised only then that the only reason she had kept going was that the fear of going forward was slightly less than the fear of trying to reverse! Never the less, the view was certainly worth it.
